Caregiver's Support Group

Providing a safe, familiar, yet stimulating space.

Caregiver’s Support Group at Dodge Park

The caregivers support group is a VIRTUAL gathering open to the public, especially for families of our Dodge Park and Oasis at Dodge Park residents. Our support group meeting is FREE.

The caregivers support group meets virtually on the third Wednesday of each month at the Oasis at Dodge Park. The meeting begins at 6:00PM.

Participation in a support group can be an empowering experience. The groups are designed to help members feel better prepared to cope with their unique situation. Support group members report feeling less alone, more able to confront their daily problems, and more hopeful about their future.

Who should attend?

Caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease impacts every aspect of your daily life. As Alzheimer’s patients lose one ability after another, a caregiver faces tests of stamina, problem solving and resiliency. Maintaining your emotional and physical fitness is crucial. Preparing yourself, understanding your loved one’s experience, and seeking support from others can be a big help.

We understand the challenges you're facing

The atmosphere of the Dodge Park Support Group is one of sharing and caring friendship. The environment is a confidential and non-judgmental place to share ideas, frustrations, anger and joy. Members receive positive reinforcement.

When caregiving is difficult and overwhelming, you may feel totally alone. However, you’ll find there are many others in your area who are also providing care to someone with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia. It can help to reach out to others who understand the challenges you’re facing.
