rita-120x150Rita L. (Leslie) Brooks, 92, of Worcester formerly of Millbury died on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in the Dodge Park Rest Home after an illness.

Her husband of 58 years Harry H. Brooks died in 1995. Rita is survived by two sons, Leslie H. Brooks and his wife Margaret of Dudley and Harry H. Brooks and his wife Patricia of Worcester; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Brooks was born in Fall River, MA on January 14, 1918 daughter of the late Levi and Bertha (Hennebury) Leslie and is predeceased by a son William R. Brooks who died in 1973.

Rita is a graduate of St. Peter’s High School and worked as a banquet manager for 35 years at the former Sheraton Hotel and the Yankee Drummer. She enjoyed painting and traveling with her husband.

The family of Rita would like to extend a thank you to all of the staff at the Dodge Park Rest Home especially Patty and Kerry for the exceptional care and love that was given to Rita during her stay and also to the Jewish Home Hospice especially Suzanne, Ida and Heather.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 10th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Church 1290 Grafton St. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Stow. A calling hour will be held from 8 to 9 AM in the funeral home on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Home Hospice 629 Salisbury St. Worcester, MA 01609.
