Martha Phyllis (Lawrence) Schiff, 84, of Worcester, died Saturday, May 10th in the Dodge Park Rest Home. Her husband of 54 years, Warren Schiff died in 2009. She leaves a son, Paul L. Schiff of Worcester; a daughter, Gail D. McDermott and her husband, Brian of Tewksbury; two grandchildren, Katelyn and Dan McDermott as well as many relatives and friends.
She was born in Berkeley, California the daughter of Manuel and Marie (Leal) Lawrence and graduated in 1949 from St. Joseph’s High School in Berkeley, CA. Martha was a supervisor for over 20 years with Jordon Marsh in Worcester. She enjoyed exercising with her personal trainer at Worcester Fitness, nature walks and shopping. Martha attended the many social groups at her senior living community and enjoyed the activities she did with them.
Martha enjoyed attending concerts at Mechanic’s Hall, theater events at the Hanover and visits to Boston.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 20th in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at NOON. A calling hour will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
