Arnold “Arnie” E. Goodhile, 77, of Manning Street, Jefferson, died peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2011, under the loving care of his family and the staff at St. Mary Health Care Center in Worcester. He was born in Holden, the son of Stewart M. and Yvonne (Hachey) Goodhile and lived here all of his life.

Arnie graduated from Holden High School in 1953 and attended Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1962, and later worked at Kinefac Corporation in Worcester for over 30 years, retiring as a Quality Control Inspector in 1996. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 32 years, Cynthia A. (Bancroft) Goodhile; two sons, Gregory A. Goodhile and his wife Jessica of Rutland and Nathan J. Goodhile of Lebanon, Maine; a daughter, M. Lisa Goodhile of Leicester; a brother, Stewart “Sonny” M. Goodhile, Jr. and his wife Marilyn of Holden; six grandchildren, Caitlin, Michaela, Shannon, Racheal, Madelyn and Zachary; several nephews and nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A private graveside service honoring Arnie’s life will be held at Grove Cemetery in Holden.
