WORCESTER – On January 30, 2013, Anna P. (Sage) Martel, 103 years old, went home to meet the Lord and to be with her husband Amie Martel, son Philip Martel and great-grandson Matthew Laino, as well as many other family members and friends. Anna was born on October 9, 1909 to Stephen and Rachel Sage in Hardwick, Mass.

Anna leaves a sister, Virginia Matterro, three daughters, Joan Swenson, Judith Martello, wife of Anthony Martello, and Sandra Flibbert, and a daughter-in-law, Kathie Martel. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Karen Tremblay, Mary Flibbert, Susan Rodriquez, Mark Flibbert, Cheryl Laino and Laurie and Jennie Martel as well as eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Anna was a homemaker her whole life and loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved travelling worldwide with her husband and in later years joining family and friends on vacations to many different locations.

Anna loved her “Bingo” games, card games, gardening and shopping.
She will be remembered as the one who “just kept kicking” and loved her “city beer”(water).

The family wishes to thank the staff of Dodge Park Rest Home for the excellent care they provided Anna for the last 2 years.
There will be a calling hour Saturday, February 2 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
