David L. Meltzer, 74, died at the Jewish Healthcare Center on Tuesday, October 20th after an illness.
He leaves his wife, Sandra (Savage) Meltzer; two sons: Jonathan Meltzer and his wife Mindee of Holliston, MA and Robert Meltzer and his wife Sharon of MA; a daughter, Deborah Meltzer of Portland, Oregon; a sister, Evelyn Margolis and her husband Sam of Bethesda, MD; seven grandchildren; Mariel, Ryan, Adam, Rachel, Abby, E.J., and Tory Meltzer; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was born in Worcester, the sone of A. Isadore and Ruth (Newfield) Meltzer and was a lifelong resident.
He graduated from Classical High School and the Univ. of Massachusetts at Amherst.
For many years he was the Director of Food Advertising and Marketing at New England Grocers. He also was associated with Good as Gold Coffee and Surabian Advertising. He was an advertising account executive and business consultant for David Meltzer Advertising for many years.
He was an avid tennis player. He was an enthusiastic sports fan and participated in a variety of sports.
He was a member of Temple Emanuel and was the editor of its newspaper for many years. He also was a member of B’Nai Brith. He loved music and loved to sing.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22ND in Perlman Funeral Home, 1026 Main St. Burial will be in B’Nai Brith Cemetery.
Memorial Observance will be held through Sunday Evening, October 25th at his residence, 122 Richmond Ave.
