Jane M. (Tierney) O’Malley, 87, formerly of Beaver Brook Parkway, Worcester, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital.
Her husband of 50 years, John P. O’Malley, died in 1998.
She leaves a brother, John J. Tierney and his wife Joanne of Worcester; a sister, Elizabeth G. Shea of Leicester; a niece, Patricia Degon and her husband Curt Degon of Worcester; two nephews, Paul B. Shea of Leicester and John W. Shea of Falmouth, Maine, and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She also leaves many friends in Worcester and Hampton Beach, N.H. She was predeceased by a brother, William F. Tierney Jr.
Mrs. O’Malley was born in Worcester, daughter of William F. and Gertrude G. (Driscoll) Tierney. For more than 50 years, she spent most of her summers in Hampton Beach.
She was a graduate of South High School. She worked in the offices of the Heald Machine Co. in Worcester for more than 35 years.
She was a founding member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
Calling hours are Sunday, April 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Monday, April 26 from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster.
