Caregivers Support Group
Dodge Park Rest Home would like to invite you, the spouse, and/or the caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease to take part of our monthly support groups. The spousal support group is meeting on the first Tuesday of each month, and the children support group is meeting on the second Tuesday of each month. The meeting is taking place at Dodge Park Rest Home which is located at 101 Randolph Road, Worcester, MA between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Both support groups are FREE and open to the public.
Participation in a support group can be an empowering experience. The groups are designed to help members feel better prepared to cope with their unique situation. Support group members report feeling less alone, more able to confront their daily problems, and more hopeful about their future.
The Support Group at Dodge Park Rest Home is a safe place to learn, offer and receive helpful tips, and meet others coping with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. The Support Groups are facilitated by Elaine Kapperman LICSW, a trained professional and community member.
Support group members are typically the spouse, adult child, other family member or friend of someone with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.
The atmosphere of the Dodge Park Rest Home Support Group is one of sharing and caring friendship. The environment is a confidential and non-judgmental place to share ideas, frustrations, anger and joy. Members receive positive reinforcement.
Refreshment will be provided. The next spousal support group will take place on Tuesday September 6, 2011. The next support group for children is on Tuesday September 13, 2011.

Please join us for our free monthly support group with Elaine Kapperman, LICSW During 2011 on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm.
The support group is open to all of Dodge Park customers and family members and to the general public. The support group meeting is FREE and open to all individuals in the community. Light supper will be provided. Activity and supervision for memory impaired individuals will be provided for FREE by our Day Club personnel during the meeting.
